Microsite launched for World Diabetes Day campaign

01/10/2009

We’re making a noise about type 1 diabetes this World Diabetes Day. And to help us, we have launched a new microsite.

The site contains details of how you can help JDRF recognise World Diabetes Day 2009, including fundraising events, going blue for World Diabetes Day and sending your own World Diabetes Day cards.

Katy Pickering, JDRF’s Head of Donor Development, said: “World Diabetes Day is marked on 14th November by organisations around the globe. Messages specifically about type 1 diabetes, as a distinct condition, are often lost amongst the news about ‘diabetes’ in general terms.

“This year, with your help, JDRF aims to get people talking about type 1 throughout November. You can help by raising awareness, making a donation or raising money by organising a Go Blue for World Diabetes Day fundraising activity.”

World Diabetes Day is an annual campaign organised by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

This year, JDRF is on a mission to raise more money for research and to tell more people about type 1 diabetes.
