Can you help with type 1 diabetes research?

22/12/2008

Kirsty Abbas, a psychologist in clinical training based in Leeds, is looking for volunteers to help with an NHS research project. She is particularly looking for 16–18 year old girls who have type 1 diabetes. The research project is looking at how having diabetes affects young women and their thoughts about the future. The information from the study will hopefully help to improve the care provided for young people who have long-term medical conditions and help them to cope better with their illness.

The research involves filling out a series of five questionnaires, and also taking part in a 30 minute telephone interview. The phone interview can be arranged so that the researcher calls at a time that suits you, so it won’t inconvenience you in any way.

If you are interested in taking part or would like to discuss the research, please contact Kirsty Abbas directly:

JDRF is not involved in funding this research project, but we are pleased to help other organisations in raising awareness of projects that may help people affected by type 1 diabetes.
