X Factor star Alexandra Burke supports JDRF

20 September 2012

JDRF is delighted to announce that Alexandra Burke will be taking part in the Virgin Active London Triathlon this weekend to raise money for JDRF.

Alexandra shot to fame when she won the X Factor in 2008, dazzling the judges and the general public with her soulful performances. Her debut album Overcome reached number 1 and has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. She has also had three number 1 singles (including a Christmas number 1) and another five in the top 10.

Last night Alex posted a message on Twitter and Facebook to tell her 600,000 Twitter followers and 950,000 Facebook supporters that she would be taking part in the triathlon for JDRF. She also posted a link to her Virgin Money Giving fundraising page.

JDRF would like to thank Alexandra for raising the profile of JDRF and type 1 diabetes with her fans, and wish her the best of luck this weekend.
