JDRF is launching a brand new pack for schools, Talking T1 – Learning about type 1 diabetes.
The pack has been developed by education and healthcare professionals to provide practical advice for the care and integration of children with type 1 in school.
The kit is totally free and contains information and support for the whole school community, from teaching and ancillary staff to other parents. It also contains class activity plans. Schools can order the pack now, to be delivered over the summer, ready for use in the new school year.
If you are a parent
We are sending an order form to every primary school in the UK. If you have a child of primary school age, you may also wish to contact their school to make sure they order a pack. We have drafted a template letter with information about the pack, for you to personalise and take into your child’s school. Download the template letter to schools here.
If you are part of a school community or healthcare professional
You can order your free cross-curricular resources and management tool kit by calling 0870 240 1640 or by completing the online registration form.
Fundraising in schools
We are delighted to be able to offer schools this support and information pack to ensure that everyone is equipped to give children with type 1 the best possible care. As a charity we rely on the generosity of our supporters to be able to fund activities such as the schools programme as well as vital research into the cure. Find out more about how your school can help us raise money to support this important work.
