A survey released today by the Medical Technology Group (MTG), has exposed major inequalities in access to insulin pumps across England.  

The findings show that 17 per cent of people with type 1 diabetes in Blackburn use an insulin pump, compared with only 0.4 per cent in Luton, indicating that that there are tens of thousands of people with type 1 diabetes who do not have access to this treatment option on the NHS. The survey was completed by all 152 Primary Care Trusts (PCTs).
