The Great Sunflower Growing Challenge

Closes 14 June (Scotland, North, Midlands, South, Northern Ireland, East, London, South West, Wales)

In aid of JDRF and for the second year running. Inspired by the success of their own sunflower growing efforts over the summer of 2013 and 2014, Sarah Langton and Peter Kilby – whose son Oliver has type 1 – are aiming to spread their passion for sunflowers across the region and help raise vital funds for JDRF.

Groups and individuals are invited to join in the challenge and try and grow the tallest sunflower.

Last year's winner topped out at 2.82 metres – an achievement to be beaten!

Four prizes will be awarded – first prize for the tallest sunflower, two runners up prizes and a booby prize judged by JDRF.Registration is £5 and more details about growing and measuring your sunflower and the terms and conditions of the competition will be included in your welcome pack.

Registrations close on Sunday 14 June 2015 and the winners will be announced by Sunday Friday 4 October 2015.

New for 2015

Once we have received your registration fee of £5 we can send you five free Russian Giant Sunflower seeds (or feel free to use your own seeds). Details of how to claim these free seeds are included in your welcome email.
